The artists will be creating original pieces of art which will be auctioned off throughout the day; artists will take commission requests for $30.00.

Those that come to the event are asked to bring a new unwrapped gift for “Toys For Tots”. All proceeds from the auctioned and commissioned artwork will go to the “Toys For Tots” charity.

Hosting the “Drawing for Toys” event will be Jason Dube founder of the SCCG and creator of such comics as “Panda Days”, “Caffeine Poisoned”, “Scattered”, and “Shadow Hunters”; joining Jason will be the Bay Area’s “Horror Babe” Horror Hostess Miss Misery

Also on hand will be the Sacramento Ghostbusters, kids can ride in the Ecto-1 Truck, see anime themed hot rods presented by “Team Love Hate”, meet the “Toys For Tots” Marines, and of course meet Santa.

Last year we raised $1,200.00 and filled 3 large bins with toys. Help us beat this record by bringing in a new unwrapped toy and by buying some one of a kind artwork and most of all help some kids have a very happy holiday season.

It’s the holiday season once again, the time for caring and sharing, it’s also the time where people come together to help those that are less fortunate and bring them some happiness during this Thanksgiving.

This year more than any other year people and families are finding it difficult to make ends meet and put food on the table not only on Thanksgiving and Christmas but also all year long; food pantries and other organizations are struggling to keep up with the increasing demand to stay supplied.

This year Jason Dube artist and owner of Scattered Studios, Richard and Kristi Zerga comic book artists and owners of Legends Of Heroes And Villains Publishing, , and horror hostess Miss Misery, along with the folks at Empire Comics Vault are banning together for the “Food For Comics” Drive.

The Food For Comics Drive will be held at Sacramento’s Empire Comics Vault where the comic book store will be offering $2.00 off selected comics in the store when customers bring in two or more can goods or other non perishable food into the store.

Empire Comics Vault will also offer 20% off all horror comics and other horror related merchandise.

Attending the event will be Jason Dube artist and owner of Scattered Studios, known for his popular creations of “Panda Days”, Caffiened Poison”, “Scattered” and now for his newest popular comic “Shadow Hunters”, also his work on the Spina Bifida charity comic “Joey The Little Genius”. Jason will be on hand to talk about these popular titles and about his upcoming projects as well; Jason will be on hand to sign copies of “Shadow Hunters” #1 and “Caffiene Poisoned”..

Jason will have copies of “Shadow Hunters” #1, as well as “Cafiene Poisoned” #1-#4; and he will be taking $2.00 off of these titles when customers bring in non perishable goods

Also attending will be Richard Zerga and Kristi Zerga artists and owner of Legends Of Heroes And Villains; they will be on hand to talk to customers about their upcoming projects and current projects including “Kitty And Batz”, “Taffy Love Is Not A Laughing Matter”, “Hotaru In Kandyland”, and “SQUIRREL”

In addition they will have these titles “Kitty And Batz” #1, “Taffy: Love Is Not A Laughing Matter” #1 and #2, “Hotaru In Kandyland”, #1-#3, and also a “SQUIRREL” preview edition on hand for sell and to sign,  for those that bring in can goods they will also give $2.00 off these great comics.

Horror Hostess Miss Misery will be at the event as well; Miss Misery is the popular San Francisco horror hostess who can now be seen on her own television show called “Miss Misery’s Movie Massacre” ; she can also be seen on her other show “The Last Doorway Show” and she is a regular on the popular “Creepy Kofy Movie Time” show; also horror fans flock to her annual “A Nightmare To Remember” film festival.

Miss Misery stars in her own comics that include “Miss Misery’s A Haunting Desire” and her newest comic “Forgotten Tales: The Audition”

Miss Misery will be at the Comics For Food event; talking about all things “Miss Misery” and the projects she is working, she will also be on hand to sign copies of her comics “Miss Misery’s A Haunting Desire” and “Forgotten Tales: The Audition”.

She keeps with the theme of the event and will be participating by taking $2.00 off her comics; in addition she will be giving way Comic Book Divas T-Shirts to customers who purchase her comics.

Q: How long have you been working with Jason Dube and Scattered Comics?

A: I’ve known Jason for almost a year, but I just started working for him about a month or 2 ago

Q: How long have been working as a professional artist?

A: As a Professional, about 10 months.

Q: Are you a fan of the original comic book series Caffiene Poisoned?

A: Yeah! It’s funny, cute, and makes me want a star bucks hot chocolate or double chocolaty chip frapacino (doesn’t like coffee ><)

Q: What do you like about working on the Comics Vs Manga web comic?

A: I like the characters. The scripts I’ve gotten so far have made me laugh while working on the pages. I can’t wait till I get the next script!

Q: Your tackling 2 of Scattered’s more popular titles (even though CVM is only been a webcomic so far it already has a dedicated fanbase), are there any fears of disappointing the fans?

A: I didn’t even think about disappointing the fans till you brought it up. I guess I’m a little nervous, but so far people seem to like my character sheets, so there might be hope for me yet! *crosses fingers*

Q: Any thoughts on what you’d like to see happen with this webcomic, or storylines?

A: No thoughts really. I guess I’m hoping to see how the characters interact with each other.

Q: Do you think you will be able to produce 2 webcomic titles on time?

A: I’ve been told I work fast, so I think I can do it.

Q: On some of your early character sheets, I see there are some outfit changes with the CVM characters. Are you planning to revamp all the characters outfits in both series?

A: Maybe. I don’t plan on drastically changing the characters, but I do want to put a little of my touch on the concepts.

Q: Who is your favorite character from either series to draw? Why?

A: Tuesday. I’ve never drawn an alien, so its been fun to make all of her crazy costumes.

Q: If you had to pick a character you most identify with in each series, who
would it be?

A: Natasha. My time in high school was usually spent with my head down, avoiding eye contact. Mostly cause everyone liked to pick on the artist.

Q: What do you prefer drawing when you’re not drawing the worlds of Scattered?

A: I LOVE working on my comics when I’m not working for Scattered. I’ve got my own web comic that updates weekly called Epic Chaos! and I’m working on my next comic book series called Guardian.

Q: If you were able to create anything with your dreams (Like Jason in Caffiene Poisoned) what would you want, and what would you do with your dream power?

A: ALL THE COPICS AND PRISMAS I COULD WANT BABY! (laughs) I’d probably bring my comics to life. Chill with my Characters. Go on some adventures. The cool stuff.

Q: Any last words, comments, worries, shout outs, sage advice you’d like to leave us with?

A: Comments: I need a nap…  Worries: I think the fans will be out to get me cause of this interview.  Shout outs: HI MOM AND DAD!  Sage advice: Don’t do drugs kids.

Joey Hernandez Is A 10-year old Young Man With Spina Bifida; Who Is Realizing His Dream To Become A Super Hero In His Own Comic Book Entitled “Joey The Little  Genius” Where He Becomes A Super Powered Robot. The Comic Is Created By Joey’s Father Joseph Hernandez.

When the studio learned about what this comic was about and what it was to be used for, the studio wanted to find some way to help out. “Since we’re artists and don’t have a lot of money to help out, I thought maybe we could help out in another way”, said Scattered Studio manager Jason Dube. “We did something like this on a smaller scale last year for Toys For Tots and created a small coloring book to give out for the kids who donated toys. But this really has the potential to really do something special.”

The writer/creator, Joseph Hernadez, quickly selected her creative team of Jason Dube to provide the artwork, lettering and Pre-press, while Stacy Raven does the awesome digital coloring. All of
which was done free of charge!

Now that the issue is completed, the publisher plans to showcase this comic at school assemblies & online through his own website.

It was a true honor to have been brought in to complete “Joey The Little Genius” and we hope that with the comic now being printed, it will give the real Joey a big smile on his face. We here at Scattered Studios hope to continue this series as it developes.
